Alvin David Crockett and Emma Christine Jensen

Emma Christina Jensen was the fourth child of John Henry Jensen and Ane Christine Jensen. Emma was born 4 July 1885. Emma married Alvin David Crockett in 1904. Uncle Alvin worked on the railroad as a signal maintainer. He used to travel up and down the tracks on his three wheeled motor car. As they lived by the railroad tracks it was Henry Marlow’s job to gather up all the younger children when the train came by.

Alvin and Emma purchased a farm west of King Hill Idaho. While Alvin worked on the railroad, Emma and the children operated the farm. This was a hard life for the Crockett. The farm was not productive and with hauling water, herding cows, killing snakes, the desert heat and with the making of many sandwiches that went to the hobo that came to the door for food as the Crockett never said no to anyone that came to their door, even if it took the food from their shelves

Alvin and Emma later moved to Glenns Ferry Idaho where Alvin and the boys worked at the railroad roundhouse where the railroad equipment was repaired.

Alvin's health was not very good the last few years and he died 26 December 1943. Since Alvin's death Emma has spent most of the time taking care of her children and grandchildren. Whenever there has been sickness she has been there to help. Emma certainly lives and enjoys helping her family. No task was too hard for her in helping those who needed her help and means. The Crockett family is and always was a very close family, the problems of any member of the family has been the concern of all members of the entire family.

After Frederick Benjamin's wife died, Emma moved in to help keep house and raise his four children most of the family moved to Pocatello Idaho where they are busily engaged in community and business life.
